Audi Q4 line-up, pricing sorted

Two body styles, two trims, two drivetrain options.

PRICING for the Audi Q4, Ingolstadt’s entry electric on a platform that will also spawn models from sister brands, starts just under $100,000 but reaches beyond $126k when dual motor variants are chosen.

This today from Audi New Zealand, which says it will bring in the Q4 from April in sports utility and Sportback five-seater body styles and two drive variants – 150kW/310Nm single motor, rear drive Advanced (Q4 40 e-tron) and 220kW/460Nm dual motor – so, all-wheel-drive - S-Line (Q4 50 e-tron quattro) – all with more than 500 kilometres’ range and DC recharging up to 135kW.

The Auckland operation claims NZ is just the fourth export market for the car, which builds upon the VW Group’s MEB platform also used by the Skoda Enyaq, Cupra Born, VW ID.4 and ID.5 that are also confirmed for NZ availability next year, likely in more budget-themed formats.

The Q4 40 e-tron Advanced models state their premium status firmly in starting from $99,990, with the Q4 50 e-tron S-Line models, which are designated as flagships, start from $126,990, all prices excluding on-road charges.

The S-Line models have a 0-100kmh sprint time of 6.2 seconds and Audi is claiming up to 522km range, as assessed by the WLTP test, for the Sportback, dropping to 511km in the SUV.

For efficiency, the motor on the front axle comes into action only when high power or additional grip is needed. Energy-saving also relies on intelligent recuperation, which incorporates navigation and topographical data.

The Q4 40 e-tron accounts for 0 –100kmh in 8.5s and reaches up to 542km in the Sportback and 528km in the SUV.

Audi NZ says customers will be able to reserve a Q4 e with a $5000 reservation deposit via an online reservation tool active from February 1.

The Advanced models come standard with 19-inch rims and the S-Line variants are on 20 inch alloys, but both can be updated to 21 inch platinum grey Audi Sport wheels with a cost-extra style pack.

“The Q4 e-tron was released as an all-new nameplate in some markets overseas in April 2021. Since then, we have been working hard to secure the model for our market,” says Audi NZ’s general manager, Dean Sheed.

“We know this model has been highly anticipated, and we are really excited to welcome this compact fully electric SUV to market next year.

“Outside of Europe, UK, and USA we are only the fourth market to launch the Q4 e-tron globally.”
