BMW’s performance division has given its all in celebration of a certain race track’s 100th. You can, too.

FOR most people, as a celebration of a successful sortie around the world’s most famous motor racing circuit, a simple sticker bought from the circuit shop showing the track outline to put on your own road or race car will suffice.

That and maybe some shaky footage from your cell phone snatched while you white-knuckled the wildest car ride of your life as a passenger in a Ring taxi.

For BMW M, celebration of 2027 being the centenary of the Nurburgring circuit in Germany, nothing less than a special editions of the M2, M3 sedan, M3 Touring, M4 Coupe, M5 sedan and M5 Touring will do.

And you’ll know one when you see it. All feature circuit-inspired graphics and bespoke interior details, and can be ordered in one of two hues - Sapphire Black or the hero ‘Nürburgring Green’ (because the place is nicknamed the ‘Green Hell') .

There are no specific handling tweaks, though the six-cylinder M2, M3 and M4 also use BMW’s new M Ignite pre-chamber ignition technology.

Who would be so bold in New Zealand when said circuit is a mere 18,300 kilometres away from pretty much any point here?
