Corvette incentive for Holden owners

Chance to win an American legend by supporting a departed Aussie great.

HOLDEN product might have gone from the showroom, but more than a million are still in circulation, which presents plenty of servicing opportunity for authorised outlets.

Assuming Holden owners still support the brand to that degree.

That General Motors has launched a GM Dream Machine competition, which offers as the ultimate prize a new C8 Corvette Stingray, suggests business on that side of things might have quietened down to the point where there’s an imperative to gee things up.

The comp starts tomorrow and concludes at the end of November, with the winner drawn on December 28.

To be eligible, entrants must complete a logbook service at an authorised Certified Service outlet, or be a GM Trade Parts member who purchases Holden Genuine or ACDelco parts.

The contest spans New Zealand and Australia, but there’s only one car on offer, so given that our neighbour has the larger Holden carpark, the odds are surely best for those living on the other side of the Tasman.

The C8 remains a relatively rare sight in New Zealand, with just seven right-hand-drive examples having so far been brought in by distributor GMSV. A small number of left-hand drive, parallel imports are also here.

GM has more than 200 certified service centres in Australasia.
