Electric Range Rover in 2025

You can sign up from now … but you won’t see one for some time yet.

JLR here has opened up the wait list for its new Range Rover Electric, but also advised Kiwis shouldn’t expect to see it until mid-2025.

Announcement of the model, along with release of a first batch of teaser images, has allowed the New Zealand distributor for the make formerly known as Jaguar land Rover to announce it is setting up an order book.

However, it has also made clear the vehicle won’t be here until June of 2025 at the earliest - nor can it give any indication about how much it will cost.

The model is still officially in the prototyping stage.

JLR’s image gallery reveals little new apart from a charging port, partially closed grille design and EV-badged wheels.

The Indo-British marque has previously confirmed the Range Rover Electric will utilise an 800V architecture, allowing it to charge faster and consume less energy.

Other 800V-equipped EVs include the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6, Kia EV6 and EV9.

There are still no details available on battery capacity, outputs, or driving range. Batteries and motors will be assembled at its new Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre in Wolverhampton, United Kingdom.

“Created in the heart of the United Kingdom, the Range Rover Electric will slot into the range alongside its mild hybrid [MHEV] and plug-in electric hybrid [PHEV] siblings, offering a breadth of options to meet our clients’ needs," JLR engineering boss Thomas Muller said.
