Podholic: The Driver’s Show

The Aussies dish out comedic banter …with a hint of motoring.

Ever wanted a podcast a little closer to home that doesn’t take itself too seriously?

The Driver’s Show could be just the ticket. The Australia-based broadcast aims to inform viewers of the latest and greatest in automotive content, albeit with a comedic twist.

Hosted by the ever-enthusiastic journalistic duo of Paul Maric and Gordie Waters, the Driver’s Show is relatively new to the podcast arena, with weekly shows sporting news, reviews and eye-opening behind-the-scenes banter.

You might have known the pod by another name. It started as The Drive Show but retitled due to media organization getting legal. All sorted, now.

The dynamic between good mates Paul and Gordie is pleasantly intriguing. Paul will appeal to those wanting genuine new product impressions, whilst Gordie takes things less seriously with off-topic (and sometimes explicit) schoolyard humour.

The Aussie connection means much of the motoring discussion refreshingly relates to the New Zealand vehicle market. Recent episodes dive into our market leader, the Ford Ranger and its various trim levels, plus Paul offers positive impressions of the twinned Volkswagen Amarok, soon to land here, amongst many others.

The Driver’s Show will not be to everyone’s flavour and carries a content warning. Keen listeners will appreciate Paul’s insights into automotive press events and Gordie’s absurd stories of getting booted from them. But others may find the humour a bit below the belt.

Itching to crank up the volume to enjoy a laugh or two? Then throttle over to Spotify, Apple Podcasts and other great platforms to check the Driver’s Show!
